Camagüey, Feb. 4 - In honor of the 107th anniversary of the birth of Fernando Chenard Piña, a martyr of the sector, coinciding with the Centennial of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of Domestic Trade, the Day of the Commerce, Gastronomy, and Services Worker was celebrated.

Ernesto Rodríguez Acosta, "El Chino," who has been dedicated to the sector for almost sixty years, received the Martyr's Plaque that represents them, with pride in belonging to the Rancho Luna Base Business Unit in the city of Camagüey.

He shared with satisfaction some of the principles he defends as a service worker today and the diversification of services that reach communities and student centers.

With his perseverance, kindness, dedication, good work, and excellent service, "El Chino" is one of the many examples of what a gastronomy worker should be.

"The experience, the 59 years in the sector, contributed to my formation. Always with the premise that the customer is right because gastronomy workers are dedicated to the population," he emphasized.

During the day, several outstanding collectives were recognized, including the establishments La Perla de Cuba, La Tuya, La Paella, La Volanta, and the Energy Saving Program.

At the Casino Campestre Cultural Center, headquarters of the activities, Yolexi Rosales Ramírez, secretary of the Provincial Bureau of the Commerce Union, praised the work of the members, their revolutionary and patriotic spirit, as well as the unity of the men and women of the guild in the actions being waged around the country's economic recovery.
